Meet with new perspective traffic safety subgrantees to generate interest in Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) grant opportunities.
Assist subgrantee agencies with underperformance issues, Grants Performance reporting and Request for reimbursements.
Assist Law Enforcement agencies with the State STEP grant process and applications related to that process.
Provide assistance to Traffic Safety stakeholders at traffic related events, campaigns, conferences or community events to promote IDOT/BSPE programs.
Provide, coordinate and assist with traffic safety training and multi-jurisdictional enforcement efforts that support the state highway safety plan.
LELs coordinate the Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge. This is a statewide recognition program that recognizes law enforcement agencies for excellence in traffic safety.
What We Do...
Our Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) team brings to you over 150 years of combined law enforcement experience. Using our experience, we work with agencies across the state to promote the State Highway Safety Plan in order to reduce the number and severity of traffic crashes.
Help coordinate training and support communities in Illinois regarding child passenger safety.
